A Transformative Renovation

This project, located on the back of the CACC Childersberg Campus, includeded renovating an existing 4,853 sq. ft. auto mechanics building into a multi-purpose conference center with a large conference/meeting room which can also be used for classroom instruction.  In addition, the newly renovated facility accommodates office space, a small conference room, pre-function lobby space, a catering kitchen, restrooms and auxiliary spaces.

The renovation includes lots of energy-efficient glass, not only to in-fill existing shop bay overhead door openings, but also in the addition’s circulation corridors. This design allows lots of natural light and views throughout the interior and to the outdoors. The updated, modern esthetics of the renovated facility (located at the rear of the campus) led one administrator to joke that the campus entrance should be relocated so more people would see it.

The project also features a new metal retrofit roof,  masonry restoration, and a custom monumental sign which helped to transform this outdated maintenance shop into a beautiful, modern, and functional multi-purpose facility which can be utilized by the College and Community alike.
