A New Student Center

Situated at the front of the Valley Street Campus of Gadsden State Community College, this approx. 4,100 s.f. facility includes a large lecture room for 128 people when configured for seminars, with flexibility to also allow for auditorium and banquet seating or subdivision into classrooms.  A lobby with vending and a cyber café, an office with A/V capabilities, storage with catering support, and restroom facilities for large groups are also included.

This project also incorporates many sustainable “green” design features. GSCC  requested that this new building at the front of the Valley Street campus take advantage of its prime location to showcase and embody the college’s aim to inspire hope, growth, and direction in the students and community it serves.

The design updates existing campus aesthetics for a new look while remaining contextual through its materials and a cantilevered design that evokes the adjacent Prater Administration building.
